Letter from the CEO

We are extremely thrilled with the results of our 2016 “Hero in U” Campaign, which raised $2.4 million. On behalf of the United Way board and staff, we are honored to be a part of a community where so many are heroes to those in need.  Thank you to everyone who allowed this campaign to be a success.


Every year, our partner agencies go through an evaluation process, where volunteers look over both the impact of their programs and the need they have for funding and then the United Way staff and volunteers go out and raise that money.


Our United Way staff and board were concerned about the economy this year therefore, we set a $2 million goal despite having a greater budget need. We were prepared to make up the difference from the organization reserves. However, thanks to the generosity of our community, we surpassed our goal. We will continue to be able to fund our 13 partner agencies in addition to our partnerships with organizations such as CityRide and Bartlesville Education Promise, and our three initiatives- Building Bridges of Oklahoma, Women’s Leadership Council and CityServe. We will also be able to continue offering Venture Grants, which help new programs who fit within our mission.


This successful campaign was the result of an entire community giving together. From our largest employer, to community golf tournaments and individual donations, everyone contributed by doing their part to help us reach the goal. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of people in need in Bartlesville and beyond by living united with us!
