Brush Up Bartlesville is a community initiative which began last year as a collaboration between local citizens, non profits, local sponsors and supported in part by the City of Bartlesville. This year’s event is a joint effort of Bartlesville City Council member Billie Roane, the Young Professionals of Bartlesville and City of Bartlesville Community Development Neighborhood Services.
The 2nd annual Brush Up event will be held this year between June and October, beginning with homeowner applications submitted for review beginning June 5-9. This program is designed to assist Bartlesville low income homeowners by offering exterior trim painting services to those in greatest need. There is no financial obligation by the homeowner, but in-kind participation is requested.
The property will be inspected for safety/deterioration by Neighborhood Services City inspector and the application reviewed and verified. Those homeowners/houses accepted will meet with a Brush Up Bartlesville team member to select a paint color from the options provided and discuss a scheduled date/time to begin the project and as well as the details of prep scraping, sanding, if necessary, and painting the exterior wood trim of the house(and garage trim, if applicable).
Materials/tools for the project have been provided (with the exception of ladders) in part by the City of Bartlesville and as well as individual and business tax exempt donations. Fundraising for paint with the Buy A bucket campaign is being coordinated by the Young Professionals of Bartlesville and associate YP member City Councilor Billie Roane. Donations will be deposited in the Brush Up Bartlesville fund through the Bartlesville Community Foundation.
Help us make the day for our neighbors and beautify Bartlesville one brush at a time!
