Brush Up Bartlesville is a new community initiative begun as a collaboration between local citizens, non profits, local sponsors and supported in part by the City of Bartlesville. We have begun recruiting volunteer teams for the 1st annual Brush Up event to be held this year between June and September. This program is designed to assist Bartlesville low income homeowners by offering exterior painting services to those in greatest need. There is no financial obligation by the homeowner, but work participation is required.
The property is inspected for safety/deterioration by City inspector and application reviewed and verified. Those homeowners/houses accepted are then paired with a Brush Up Bartlesville team who meet with the homeowner to determine select a paint color form the options provided and discuss a scheduled date/time to begin the project and discuss the details of prep scraping, sanding, if necessary, and painting the exterior wood of the house.
All materials/tools for the project are provided (with the exception of ladders) in part by the City of Bartlesville and as well as individual and business tax exempt donations. Fundraising for paint/supplies is being orchestrated with the Buy A Bucket campaign efforts which are deposited to the Brush Up Bartlesville Fund though a Bartlesville Community Foundation Fiscal Sponsorship Fund.
