Maui United Way Needs our Support!

Recent wildfires have devastated much of the western part of Hawaii’s Maui Island. Maui County is reporting more than 100 deaths and extensive damage to homes and businesses, notably in Lahaina.

Individuals and families have evacuated homes, with thousands of locals and travelers being housed at emergency overnight shelters or the Kahului Airport. As of August 9, Lahaina lacks cellphone and landline service.

In response to such overwhelming devastation, Maui United Way has activated the Maui Fire Disaster Relief Fund to support individuals and nonprofits directly impacted by the wildfire. The long-term impact of the losses is only just being realized.
